I know, I know…you’re not supposed to work on Labor Day, but I couldn’t resist.
If you got your “Items of Interest” email for this week, you might have noticed that the email that it came from is different now. After praying to the server gods and sacrificing some old computer parts in order to move things along, the software I use to send out The Ford Report every week is now working on this server. I’ll keep the list active on 68Caliber.Com’s server just as a backup, but as it stands right now, hardware and software wise TFR is fully independent of 68Caliber.Com.
In other good news, Evan Money and his empire have signed on as an advertiser for The Ford Report. Given that E is one of the inspirations for The Ford Report, it made sense that he sign on here as a supporter and advertiser on the site.
With the end of the season approaching, I’m looking forward to talking with people in the industry about continuing their relationship with 68Caliber.Com and starting a new relationship with TFR. The “Dale-Needs-To-Trade-In-His-Mountaineer-and-Buy-A-Corvette Fund” is off to a good start with E’s monthly contribution. If you’re looking to advertise here, feel free to drop me a line at dale@thefordreport.com and it’s possible to do a combo deal where you can advertise on 68Caliber.Com and here…just drop ace sales weasel Rich Gold a line at sales@68caliber.com and he and I will work it out.
I’d been hearing about PGI’s impending demise for awhile, and I noted with sadness that they officially closed the doors over the course of this weekend. Robbo has taken over p8ntballer.com so the spirit of PGI will live on at the very least. Seems like independent journalism in paintball is becoming an endangered species. It’s a sad state of affairs right now in general, and the magazines are all having a hard time.
While it sucks that PGI is ‘on ice’ for the moment, it does free up some ad money that would otherwise be going to England, and it ought to shore up things for the remaining magazines, and hopefully I’ll be getting some more contributions to my ‘vette fund as well.
They say the first part of dealing with a problem is acknowledging that you have one. Apparently I’m a Jersey Whore. Right now I have a BUNCH of old jerseys that I’m selling on McarterBrown.Com and PBJunkie.Com. The crown jewel of the bunch is my Shatner jersey, which is really just wasting away in my closet, so I figure it’s time to sell it to someone who’ll appreciate it. There’s some other goodies in there as well, so head on over to either PBJunkie.Com or McarterBrown.Com to take a peek.
Finally, The Tiny Blonde Goddess arrived back home from her trip to see family and friends in Oklahoma last night. I’ve discovered that being a bachelor sucks, even if it’s for just a week. Phatty The Cat is less than enthused that she’s now got to share the bed again, but she’s a cat…she’ll live.
