3. PaintClub is this weekend! Leaving out early in the morning to Georgia to pick up “Georgia” Joe Hamilton then head off to LCP.
4. The Country of Germany uses the crisis after a school shooting to consider a law to ban paintball and laser tag…it was considered a slam-dunk for passage, but now the government is reconsidering after a major public outcry. I’d say it’s a wake up call…most liberals despise guns of any type, even sporting goods like paintball markers.
5. Deep South Baller Michael Tolnay loses his girlfriend after a fall from a ladder. She was buried yesterday morning. Our prayers are with Mike during this difficult time.
6. Former pro player Eric Forg passes away from cancer.
7. PaintballX3′s John Amodea was grilled on PBLive.Tv last night during a radio show there.
8. SPLAT Magazine is working with EMR’s Blue to bring Castle to the West Coast. I’m not sure the left coast is ready for Castle…
9. Valken Paintball had a meet ‘n greet in New Jersey last weekend…feedback according to JJ Brookshire has been overly positive. I’m personally looking forward to seeing some of their product myself.

15. PSP releases the field layout for the Chicago Open.
16. The SPCS will be using this layout for their May 31^st event in Orlando.

18. There was a rumor flying about that Smart Parts had or was in the process of filing Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. This was denied by Sean Scott, and verified with a visit to PACER, the Federal Court Reporting system.

26. The USPL has started up their Pro-Am, giving divisonal teams the opportunity to own a Pro for the weekend. I had to explain to the Tiny Blonde Goddess that she’d have to be playing on a competitive team in the USPL to get a chance to own Frank “Da Tank” Connell. She was crushed.
27. Speaking of Frank, he sucks because he got to see the latest shuttle launch from his porch. Next time I’m going to have to take the time off from work to witness this, before the program ends.

29. “They” sent this to me: “Rene and Juvy (of Paintball News) must have been spirited off to an “undisclosed location.” Not only has there not been an issue of Paintball News since last October, and the phone disconnected, but their other operation, Hillsboro Paintball, has also disconnected its phone.” I dunno. I suppose someone up in the NE would have a better idea than me, since I’m still in Florida.
30. “Evil” Ernie Correale sends this along: “The team I recently joined as a coach for MAO(Palm Beach Vipers Black) improved their performance from a last place finish at Phoenix to a 4th place finish at MAO. Needless to say, they are very happy with their performance and expect to make a good showing at the Chicago event.”
31. There’s another rumor flying about that ProCaps is leading the charge to force a changeover to .50 caliber paintballs. Romanian Terminator Sorin Voinea of ProCaps thinks this is hysterical. I tend to agree. Not even Frank Connell with help from Jeff Stein could beat me up enough to think that’s a good idea…
32. Bob “Hawtie With a Nawtie Body” Cartwright and Rocky Cagnoni are going to be busy this weekend breaking ground on their new venture, Mutiny Xtreme Sports. I’m a bit miffed that they’re not making PaintClub now, but both Bob and Rocky are local to me, so if I feel the need to go party with them, it’s not tough to get done.
33. Anyways, off I go to start packing up the Mountaineer O’ Doom for the trip to LCP…I’ll see about getting some spy shots from the event. I’ve gotten a few requests for them, from people who aren’t able to make it…this year.
