World Cup this year will be held October 7th-11th at Fantasy of Flight, a facility holding a private collection of over 40 vintage aircraft located near Polk City, FL.

Polk City is located on I-4, the main East-West artery in Florida.  Fantasy of Flight is roughly equidistant between Orlando and Tampa, and roughly 22 miles from Kissimmee, FL where World Cup has been held in the past.

While I believe that I was the furthest thing from Lane’s mind as he made the arrangements for this year’s World Cup venue, I do want to thank him for getting a venue for World Cup not only closer to my home in the Tampa Bay Area, but also incorporating my background in aviation and my continued interest in all things aviation related.
