Is Your PB Website Blacklisted? Or Blackmailed?

A short investigation into email server rejection of normal email traffic.

This all started a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, called the Internet Galaxy.

I signed back in to my old web forum, or tried too. I thought at first someone hacked my log in and that’s why I couldn’t get back in.

But it wasn’t, some time ago my old forum had had a crash and I didn’t know. I was logging in to another website at the bequest of the owner. Really nice baller/photog whom I had met at a Blanding game. So when I no longer had access from that owner of that web site I tried to log in on to my old forum.

So I reregistered and started posting. I set up my account so that I would get instant emails. From any thread I had posted in or subscribed too.

No email’s, I went along for a while, never minding not getting any emails.

I told the Forum Admin that I wasn’t receiving any thread reply notification emails.

He told me the problem was with my email server. So I accepted that and just logged in to the forum as usual. I would just live with the lack of email notification from there web site.

Ok, now a while back I signed in to a web store. To register and purchase event air and paint. I paid and never got a conformation email from the web store.

I inquired the sight admin as to why no conformation email. Again I was told that my email server was at fault and of course there was no problem they made allowances for me.

I also had back invoices from the service I used to pay for the online purchase for the event.

That was nice. I tried to change my email for the web store and put a dollar into the charity fund to see if I could get a conformation email. Nope! I got an email from the vendor admin saying again the problem was on my end with the service I use for internet access.

In that email he sent a clue as to what was going on. It was an I P address that all internet servers use as an address. This changes when you reboot your modem from home. You get a new IP. But servers like for websites like most forums have locked IP. There address doesn’t change, it’s always the same.

Now I did a search on the internet to find a tool to research this email or lack of it problem. http://mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx is what I came up with. It has a black list search tool.

Now you need to find out what the IP is for any given web server.

http://www.selfseo.com/find_ip_address_of_a_website.php

Is the tool you use to get the IP, all you have to do is put the address or the web site in the box, like http://www……….com, and you get the IP. To insert into the mxtoolbox blacklist search tool.

Then you search. I found a lot of paintball web servers who were blacklisted.

Mostly due to unsecured email services. Spam was mentioned in many of the reasons but not the main one. So this question popped up in my brain. Are Paintball Web Sites being blackmailed, by these watch dog services that my email server subscribes too?

My email server a widely know and well used internet service provider subscribes to these watch dog services. Blocks the conformation email from the purchase I made which is a legitimate transaction.

I don’t know the truth of all this, I am going to research it more over time and will see just what is really going one with this stupid email thingy.

You can do your own investigation as well using the tools provided above.

As always I try to be helpful in everything I do and if I can benefit any one by my wisdom I will try to. I hope you benefit from my problem with these watch dog web sites.

If this has been happening to you, this is the reason. Its not your fault your email address is just fine. I don’t know why its always my fault. Shouldn’t the web site admin fix this email thing and stop blaming it on the end user.
