LAPCO changes the name of their QEPH to Piston Housing per a TechT Trademark that TechT owns. From now on, LAPCO’s product will be called “Uni-Flow™ Piston Housing” to ensure no confusion between the products.

“They” have been talking about how assets belonging to Smart Parts have been ‘seized’, and that Richmond Italia was buying Smart Parts. To that end, I emailed Richmond Italia and asked him about it, and here’s his response: “Nothing has been seized at SP. At this point all they have done is shut down US manufacturing operations. I do have a license to produce product. And if I see a demand I will make the product in either my Taiwan facility or in my US facility that will come on line soon. I have produced a 68 cal Impulse along side with the 50 cal since the two can interchange so many parts. So at this point the Impulse is not affected by the SP shutdown. Other products may follow but at this point it is more a wait and see.”

The more I get to know Richmond, the more I admire his ability to speak his mind when asked a question.

N Xe has rolled out their new Elevation Series pants.

ProCaps’ Brian Barno is in California right now (surfing?) but he’ll be coming back east this weekend to attend Lehigh Valley Paintball’s “Splat-o-ween” event on November 1st.
-
This weekend I’m going to be sleeping. A lot.
-
Last weekend at LCP neophyte game writer Joe Holleran put on “Prison Escape”, based on a popular TV series, and while his game was presented differently than what I’ve seen in the past, it was a good kind of different, and players seemed to respond positively to the environment he created. Write up coming soon in Shooting Hot magazine.
-
Speaking of Shooting Hot, make sure to stay tuned over the weekend for the November issue!

Tippmann rolls out their new Phenom marker. Minions report that they’re trying to ‘convince’ Ron Goldblatt to give one up for review in Shooting Hot, but Goldblatt is resisting their efforts thus far. More Minions en-route. In the meantime, check this out: http://www.tippmann.com/X7PhenomLaunch/

Tri-State Special Operations Command’s Chris “topher” Matsinger, Chris “DeathX” Crawford, and Simon “Bulldog” Nadler were on PBLive.tv, Wednesday, October 28 at 9:00PM ET/6:00PM PT, to do a Q&A session about Tippmann’s new X7 Phenom.

Team XSV’s Thomas Taylor became a father this week.

KEE Action Sports’ Paul Bollenbach will be attending MPP Games’ “Chosin: Leave No One Behind” at Paintball Charleston next weekend, along with Shooting Hot Publisher Billy Smith and writer/photographer Bambi Bullard. I believe Bambi is commanding one side against Ben Tippmann, so it ought to be a beast of a game. I would hope that Billy will kill for Bambi.
-
Associate Editor Joe Holleran will be commanding the NATO side of Command Decisions’ Fulda Gap 2009 game in Taylorsville, NC next weekend. A good sized complement of IYAOYAS and South Beach Pimp brothers will be on hand to kill for Sideshow, including me.
-
I have it on good authority that Gerry Bates of Planet Eclipse will be on hand to service PE markers at Fulda Gap. Out of the roughly 1000 players attending, close to 10% are confirmed to be using Eclipse markers.

JC Leabo from Suicide Guys chimes in: “Seth Smith is a member of the Dallas County Suicide Guys in Texas. About three weeks ago his apartment was broken into and he lost his tv, appliances, furniture, cash, and even his paintball gear. He’s trying to get back on his feet but times are tough. So if you’d like to help him out, please let me know.”

Empire rolls out their new LTD, Contact, and Casual gear for the 2010 season.

I have a fantastic blackmail picture of ProCaps’ Eric Stork…bids start at $5000. I can throw in a picture of The Romanian Terminator too, just because he despises having his picture taken.

Valken’s sales team appears to be killing, maiming and destroying again, offering a pretty cool deal for dealers selling their product. Check it out if you’ve got an account with Valken.

I’ll be glad when October ends this weekend…the Silver Bullet suffered a failure with the fuel pump, forcing me to rent a minivan for 2 days. I’m thinking Shooting Hot and The Ford Report need to pick up some advertisers so I can look into upgrading…I’m a Ford guy at heart, and it just feels wrong to be driving a Chevy…
