Immediate Formation of New Division

Syracuse, NY (January 26th, 2010) – Due to the recent announcement of the AXBL canceling its league operations in the United States, the NYPL staff and ownership held an emergency meeting late last night to find a solution for teams that would like to play in the largest paintball league in the Northeast.

The NYPL has one of the top facilities in the Northeast with an onsite hotel, onsite restaurant and established indoor and outdoor paintball facility only 5 min off Interstate 90. Only 5 minutes from the city of Syracuse, the location is centrally located within a 5 to 6 hour drive time of the entire Northeast. The owners of the NYPL have been operating paintball tournaments for over 15 years.

As a result of the meeting we would like to announce the following information:

• The NYPL will now add a new division of 16 teams which will be named the NYPL National League.
• The existing NYPL teams are in the NYPL American League. There will be absolutely no changes to the schedule, prizes, game format or anything else for our existing teams.
• The existing NYPL American league division is SOLD OUT and will be played regardless if National division is formed or not.
• The NYPL is a player feedback league, therefore, we will not form the new league unless there are captions/team owners that show interest in joining and being a part of the league.
• The league and both divisions will continue to have owners meetings where the NYPL ownership details all of the league finances and asks the team owners to vote on league direction, fees and prizes.
• The entry fee for the new NYPL National League will be $2000.00. The entry fee has been increased for this new division because the original NYPL teams should be rewarded for their loyalty building the largest league in the Northeast and logistically it is going to be expensive for the NYPL to put this new division together in only 3 short months (even with the increased entry fee, you could play both divisions of the NYPL and pay much less than the AXBL).
• The dates of the new division are confirmed:
  • May 22^nd-23^rd
  • June 19^th-20
  • July 17^th-18th
  • August 7^th-8^th
  • Finals: August 28^th-29^th
• Each team in the new division will receive everything the same as the existing NYPL teams, 8 Matches, 12 Jerseys, 12 ID cards and 12 League T-shirts.
• Prizes, venue, rules and format are the same as the existing NYPL and are confirmed.
• The NYPL will be making a major investment to the venue if the players decide to form the new league and will install field turf, bleachers and upgraded player boxes.
• On September 18^th-19^th we would plan to have an exhibition tournament with the top 8 teams from both the American and National divisions. We have not solidified the information on this event and plan to have the team owners work with us on that at the ownership meetings during the first event of the year.
• The deadline for entry into the new National Division is February 15^th.

We understand that there will most likely be a half dozen new leagues that will attempt to form in the next month. The benefits that the NYPL enjoys over a completely new league are:

• Centrally located facilities for all of the Northeast
• The NYPL is an established league that has proven its ability to stay around and operate quality events.
• The tournament facility has onsite hotel and restaurant.
• The series is extremely affordable compared to other leagues.
• The NYPL is backed by ownership that has no debt, has been around for over 15 years and can give the security to teams that it will always be around.
• The NYPL has shown it has the infrastructure and ability to actually bring your team quality events because we have already confirmed every aspect of the league.

It is our hopes that we can help the tournament players that have been displaced by the recent cancelation and give them a quality league to play affordable paintball. We can assure you that we appreciate your business, we will involve your team in league decisions and we will work our hardest to provide quality events for your money.
