  • If you were in the Gainesville, FL area this past week, you may have heard a muffled explosion…it was just 88 Teeth’s Taylor Ashton’s head exploding about the time he opened up the box containing the Pink/Purple Vapor that he’s going to be using for the photo shoot later this month. Fortunately his wife was able to reassemble his head and get some pictures of him with it…check ‘em out on my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/TheFordReport
  • Some piece of human debris has stolen the Valken semi tractor! Pictures are all over FB, and those of you in logistics need to spread the word and find it! At my day job, half of the business is logistics related, so I was able to get a picture out to my boss here in GA and the big bosses up in Ohio.
  • Apparently they do safety briefings differently over in the UK: http://thefordreport.com/2012/09/typical-safety-briefing-at-shoreline-paintball/
  • As I write this, I was contacted by none other than Bear D’Egidio to let me know about his new video presentation, “Bear’s Cave”: http://youtu.be/b0M0mgmlNLM
  • Meanwhile, I saw a very brief blurb somewhere on FB about the idea of a Rotor 2 from DYE. I haven’t bothered contacting people at DYE yet, but I’ll get around to it eventually. My ancient Rotor is doing just fine, so I’m not sure how you could improve on the existing design.
  • Had a nice conversation with Paul Garry and Tim Barnett early this past Saturday morning. People like them are a big part of the reason I’m still a paintballer 24 years later.
  • On the way home from work this week, I stopped at a local grocery store and ran into none other than than “Georgia” Joe Hamilton. Despite having emergency surgery recently to correct issues with neck vertebrae, he looks great, and was on his way to ATL for an appointment at Emory. The routine check up went fine, and aside from the doctor admonishing Joe to quit over-doing things, all appears to be on a road to recovery.
  • While driving to work early one morning, I noticed that I was being followed by LCP’s Billy Smith. He was less than enthused with me for neglecting to make mention of the benefit game for Joe to be held at the legendary field October 27th and 28th as part of the Zombie Apocalypse series. Head over to http://www.lcpscenariogames.com to get signed up!
  • Billy must have felt pretty strongly about it, since I leave for work at 7AM, and he lives 3 hours away…
  • And yes, that’s the same weekend as this year’s PSP World Cup. No offense to Camille and Co., but I’d rather hang out with Joe than go to Florida.
  • After a bit of a hiatus, TB is back in the saddle: http://worldoftb.com/index.php/2012/09/20/it-s-the-smell-can?blog=1
  • Thanks to Valken, I’ve heard WAY too much of “Gangnam Style” this past week, as people submitted their video entries for a contest they’re running.
  • Quarles dropped by to let me know that Empire is running a contest as well, which will net you and a friend a new E-Flex mask: http://thefordreport.com/2012/09/e-flex-your-friend/
  • While Greg Hastings was traveling, Deuce popped out of yet another old copier at work (at least this was a really big copier this time) to let me know that he and Greg were hanging out with racers now: http://thefordreport.com/2012/09/turner-motorsports-taps-professional-paintballer-greg-hastings-for-off-track-combat-action-in-las-vegas/
  • His dad took another approach, simply dropping by to pass this along: “BLUE will be Generaling against Gino Postorivo at PAINTBALL EXPLOSION for their Clowns Vs Zombies game On October 7th. Don’t miss this game where VALKEN goes against VALKEN with Rob Leary of NINJA as Gino’s XO and SKELETOR from BLUE’S CREW as BLUE’S XO. For more information and to register go to www.PBbomb.com . See you all there.”
  • The weekend before World Cup, The Bunker in Wyandotte, OK is having a game based on “Red Dawn”.
  • Later on in November, “Mobsters: Redemption” is coming to Fort Knox Paintball in my home state of Indiana.
  • A bit closer to home, Sexy Rexy at Old River Paintball is looking for Zombie Hunters…check out http://www.oldriverpaintball.net to see what he’s looking for…
  • Da Tank is over in the UK building Superhero guns…Avengers, for those of you who want specifics.
  • Hey Frank, did you call Gino?
  • In my former home town of Tampa, FL, Alternative Sports is celebrating their 2nd year of being Awesome. Head down to their South Dale Mabry location to see what they got going on this coming Sunday!
  • Joey Decaire flounced in (very cute flounce, by the way) to let me know that the Tremblant Cowboys won this year’s Richmond Cup.
  • The photos from the D-League’s season finale can be seen here: http://fxfphotos.com/dleague1204.htm
  • After a shorter than anticipated stay at The Motorcycle Shop in Valdosta, GA, the TFR ZX-11 is back in the storage building here, waiting for some more parts. It’s technically rideable right now, but I need to get the title and tag done, plus a couple of knick knacks added to it before it hits the road. Later I’ll be buying a new body kit for it, so it’ll look as good as it now runs! My wife likes the look of the bike, even diminished as it is in the looks department at the moment, but despises how loud it is. Loud pipes save lives!
